Piggyback Marketing

Piggyback marketing like this is an interesting phenomenon. I guess its trying to get attention by aligning yourself with other stuff that is getting attention. I don't believe Audi are sponsors of the world cup but its not stopping them from cashing in on the marketing...

It always amuses me how brands who have nothing to do with the World Cup/other similar sports events try to get in on the marketing action. This might be a bit of a gimmicky stunt, but it's a good one!
