A better way to say sorry

This article has a really interesting idea to make kids apologise "better" that actually makes them think about it more and hopefully therefore understand exactly why what they did was wrong rather than the usual foot-shuffling, eyes-down mumbled "sorry".

The story makes it sound very effective and I certainly can't see that it would do any harm.

I’m not sure if my students carry this formal apology home, or if they even remember it in fifth grade. But I know it works, and I know I’ll be teaching it to my own children someday.
